VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compound. Organic chemicals are
widely used as ingredients in household products such as paints,
varnishes, and wax. Fuels are also made up of organic chemicals.
These products can release VOCs while you are using them, and, to
some degree, when they are stored. Air purifiers which utilize
activated carbon in their filters can reduce household VOCs
through a process called adsorption. |
